We are glad to announce the addition of streamers into the ranks of Boom eSports – this marks a new era for Boom, as we are moving forward with our goal to become the greatest eSports media organisation.
Our very first streamer is Joel “MiniVanHelsing” Jesus who comes from Portugal and has just recently started streaming, but he shows a lot of potential for his love for gaming and super positive attitude. Make sure you go check him out tomorrow as he starts streaming once again. Head over to https://twitch.tv/minivanhelsing and make sure you follow him.
We had a little chat with Joel and here’s what he had to say:
1) How long have you been streaming?
I’m very new to streaming. I streamed for around a month last year and it was a great experience. I’ve learned a lot during that time. It was then that I realized that I needed some extra equipment if I wanted to stream comfortably and as such, I upgraded my PC and grabbed an extra monitor. February is the month of my return where I’ll stream regularly from now on!
2) What brought you to streaming/gaming?
That’s an interesting question. Gaming has been a part of my life since I can remember. My dad introduced me to Prince of Persia back in the 90’s and when I turned 5, I got my very own PS1. I allow myself to get immersed in the videogames that I play and it’s an amazing feeling to be part of the character’s journey. Now, streaming is a total different experience. I wanted to share this passion I have for videogames and my own journey playing through these many different games. When playing online, I tend to get quite competitive!
3) What are your all time TOP 3 games?
Oh we would be here all day discussing this. There is one that comes to mind immediately and that is Final Fantasy IX. The story compelled me to keep playing and I believe that was the one game that made me tear up. It has forever made a very special place in my heart. There is one other that I still play to this day and that is World of Warcraft. I met an amazing number of people there and in all honesty, that’s where I learned most of my English. As for the third I would add Mass Effect to that list, it’s a beautiful game with an immersive universe.
